Helvellyn summit via Striding Edge
Helvellyn summit panoramic photograph captured during a beautiful winter morning. This is a large format panoramic print with incredible detail on the classic walking routes to Helvellyn summit. Both Striding Edge and Swirral Edge can be seen clearly in this high resolution photograph. The light was stunning on this epic morning with snow as deep as my knees. I originally set off on a dog walk in the darkness to watch the early morning light, it was a real bluebird day and we were out till late afternoon! The whole day turned out to be a photographic safari! We were blessed with deer and stag sightings on our lunch stop. Four American air force F-15 jets flew over us whilst on our way down from Place fell and two Tornados flew over once we reached the valley floor. Winter is my favourite time of year to capture the Lakeland fells of Cumbria and this day did not disappoint.
