I love this aerial photograph of Blencathra and Skiddaw captured on Christmas Eve 2018. I was extremely lucky to experiance an offer I couldn’t refuse! A flight from Carlisle airport over the northern Lake District fells. This was one of those Christmas Eves I’m never going to forget…..I was all set to go for a mountain bike ride when my friend rang: “I don’t want to go riding with you today I have had a better offer, would you like to join us” This was one of those jaw dropping moments for me and I quickly replied with “yes please” Having lived in Keswick since 1994 I have often thought of being high above the lakeland fells with my camera. Christmas came early for me this year, flying above some of the best scenery Cumbria has to offer in stunning late afternoon light was a chance of a lifetime.
