January 2015 – Glen Etive & The Buachaille
After an amazing 2014 wedding season, we headed up north for a break in the stunning Scottish highlands. We were in search of big mountain scenery, waterfalls, castles and lochs. Our winter break did not disappoint, we were blessed with a fresh fall of snow, good road conditions and clear blue skies for most of the trip. Glen Etive is a popular area for photography training and outdoor enthusiasts in search of prime winter conditions. The Royal Bank of Scotland was filming a new advert close to the Buachaille, which almost prevented me capturing this photograph. Huge movie blockbusters like Skyfall and Braveheart have also been filmed in this stunning location. I captured this Glen Etive photograph with the Canon 5D Mk 3 and the 16-35mm MK2 lens.
