Catbells Summit Photograph March 2014

Early morning is the perfect time to capture Lake District Landscapes here in Cumbria. I consider myself very lucky to have had two consecutive mornings of beautiful early morning light. Even more lucky to have a huge temperature inversion the day after I captured this photograph. Living in Keswick certainly does have it’s advantages for a photographer! Catbells is a very well known local fell and has been a popular dog walking trail over the years for us. At a height of 1,480 ft Catbells Summit is easily reached within one hour from the car park. You are rewarded with magical views towards Skiddaw and surounded by some of the most scenic views in Cumbria. Equipment used for this photograph was the Olympus OMD EM-1 and Olympus 12mm Prime Lens. My lightweight three legged thing tripod helped with the process of keeping everthing sharp. Have a look at the following morning’s cloud inversion via this link….. Aerial Lake District Video¬†
