The Old Water Mill – Borrowdale
I’ve lived in Keswick since 1994 and it’s now October 2020. I can’t believe it’s taken me all this time to see this beautiful old water mill in Borrowdale. It’s often refferred to as the secret mill, would you believe there were around eight photographers there and I was asked to stand and cue. Autumn is a lovely time of year for a beauty spot like this, the Borrowdale autumn shades and mossy greens work so well with the character of the mill. I was out on a one2one photography workshop and this was a great subject to discuss filters and composition. If you are planning a visit to this stunning area look for Coombe Gill, the nearest parking is Seatoller carpark. It’s a short walk down the road to the Dukes of Hazzard bridge (Drive slowly over this one) turn right and when you see the row of houses it’s through a field and straight on after a modern stone faced barn.
