Skiddaw sunrise above the clouds

Skiddaw sunrise, walking with my head in the clouds! I was so tempted to call my latest landscape photograph Breaking Dawn! For some bizarre reason this image reminds me of a classic vampire movie called Lost Boys, maybe it’s the elevation and being high above a sleepy town? It was a fabulous morning, my chocolate Labrador and I set off in total darkness with no idea that we were in for an epic adventure.  Catbells is like a magnet for me when I’m searching for inversions to photograph. The summit is situated high above Derwentwater and our local town of Keswick, it’s an incredible location to take photographs from at any time of day, let alone in mind blowing conditions like these. Definitely worth an early wake up call from your alarm clock. Believe me, I’ve had quite a few failed inversion attempts, but when it all comes together it brings a big smile to your face. This image is a stitched panoramic photograph with a huge file size and will be well suited for anyone looking to create a feature wall. There are so many wallpaper companies available now that have options to create large format commercial printing projects. My most popular request is for aluminium prints and my average size is 60×40 inches. I do have a sample available hanging on my office wall if you are ever in the Keswick area looking for landscape photography. Feel free to message me if you have any questions on usage rights for digital files. The shopping area for photographic prints is available via the link above. Prices start at £8.50 for 7×5 prints. There are so many different sizes available including a range of panoramic options which will suit this image.
