Skiddaw landscape, captured early autumn 2015, both Skiddaw and Blencthra are ablaze with purple heather at the moment. Autumn is becoming a busy season for the Lake District with walking tours, mountain bikers and photographers. Sunrise, early morning mist and calm reflections are on offer for the early risers at this time of year. Skiddaw is rated as the sixth highest mountain in the Lake District, towering over our local town of Keswick at 3,054 ft. If your interested in reaching the summit, it’s quite an easy stroll from Latrigg car park. The views of Keswick and Derwent Water are worth the walk, with options of dropping down onto Ullock pike, which is one of my favourite ridge walks with Bassenthwaite Lake directly below. I have a large variety of Skiddaw photographs available to purchase on the website, which have been captured during all four seasons.
