Bassenthwaite Lake – Armathwaite Hall
I captured this Bassenthwaite Lake image from the grounds of Armathwaite Hall during summer 2013. The lake is approximately four miles long and surrounded by some of Lakeland’s finest fells. It’s just a short drive from our home town of Keswick via the A66. Ospreys can often be seen fishing from the lake shore and viewing points in Dodd Wood. It’s definitely worth popping in to Armathwaite hall if you are looking for accomadation or a sneaky afternoon tea. This is the view you will be greeted with once you arrive at the hall. Causey Pike, Barrow, Skiddaw and Ullock Pike can be seen from within the stunning grounds.
